Written Expression (Unit01: Ethics in Business)

Writing has always been challanging for both learners and tutors as well. One before he writes, he should brainstorm ideas related to the topic on the draft paper and then try to link them all together so that fall smoothly and the paragraphs be coherent. You should write as many drafts as possible so that the final version will come up mistakes-free and beautifully written.

Here is a very good summary of how to write an essay for students of third year and teachers as well with some of the essays related to the first unit "Ethics in Business"
I thus ask all of you to give feedback to this lesson

Points to be taking into account before writing an essay

    -----------------------------------
--------------------------------------
   ------------------------------------
 -----------paragraph1-----------
    ------------------------------------
---------- paragraph2--------------
    ------------------------------------
---------- paragraph3--------------
   ------------------------------------
---------------------------------------

Your essay should consist of three parts:

Firstly, give a general idea or a definition of the topic. ( the topic can be: corruption, child labor, smoking, pollution……ect)
Then, it comes "the general idea about what you are going to talk about in your essay."  We call this “thesis statement”
For example, a general idea about corruption and "thesis statement"  is how to fight corruption or types of corruption ….ect it depends on what are asked to write about.

* it consists of a set of paragraphs, generally three, which support the general idea of the essay ; “the thesis statement”
Each paragraph talks about one idea. So, I suggest you write the ideas on the draft paper and then explain each of them separately and then arrange them.
The paragraphs should be linked together with the appropriate connectors.
The first paragraph generally begins with: firstly, to begin with....ect
the last paragraph generally linked with finally,
If you are going to add information you use in addition, also, besides, furthermore, moreover, I can say that......ect
To express result you use as a result, consequently, as a consequence, hence, thus, so,.........ect
in order to express cause you can use because, since, as, before a clause and for, owing to, thanks to, due to before  a noun phrase.
In case your assay is supposed to compare two different things your essay is called contrast essay and  will include two different paragraphs . You can start you first paragraph with On one hand, ....... and the second with on the other hand, ................ There are other link words you can use with this type of essays.

The link words that  can be used here are: To sum up, in sum, To conclude, As a conclusion.......ect
in the conclusion you can write anything related to the topic and it should be short.
-.

For example if you are about to make a paragraph about how to fight corruption, in here you will have to insist on people and government what they should do  so you use modals like MUST HAD BETTER OUGHT TO AND SHOULD. You can also use it is high time + the past of the verb.

In academic writing one should not use contractions like don't, isn't ,wasn't, weren't, aren't shouldn't ....ect just write do not, is not , are not, was not were not, should not  ....ect
also do not contract have, has,  is, are, was or were to 've 's 're ...ect

In the baccalaureate exam the topics are restricted to the topics you studied at school only.
You will deal with two different topics in the written expression part:
The first is related to the theme of the text. If the text talks about corruption then expect that the first topic of the written expression will certainly be about corruption.
The first topic is guided with some keys to follow.
The second one will be free with no keys to follow and will be on one of the other topics you studied at school.
Here are some of the paragraphs that taught at school for scientific, Math, and Economics & management streams

Unit: 01 Ethics in Business
1/ Some measurements to fight corruption
Corruption has virally spread recently. It is transmitted from one person to another just like a contagious disease. Hence, it is high time we stood all together to fight this evil by taking some measurements into consideration.
To begin with, one corrupt individual could be a real threat to the whole association. Thus, government must take into account the way civil servants are appointed. This can be done by arranging transparent contests based on the individual's competency and integrity since honest and competent servants will make the work within a company glow with success.
Another important step in making less of unethical behaviours is that whoever engages into an immoral act must be punished severely so that the others will fear trying to make any unethical act. So, it is about time the authorities thought of establishing strict anti-corruption laws.
Finally, to my mind, raising awareness among our society is deemed to be a fundamental step to eradicating corruption or at least making less of it. Government ought to rehabilitate the value of work by awarding those who kept their probity and integrity throughout their career. Not only this, anti-corruption associations should make people aware of the threats our country will face if corruption continues. This can be done through seminars, posters, media and social networks. Also, the ministry of education should take part in this too by implementing lessons about ethics at schools so that we will be able to see a well-educated generation later.
As a conclusion, we will be able to make our country corruption-free providing that we act now.
2/ The side effects or the harmful effects of counterfeit  products
Nowadays, mostly in every home there should be tens of counterfeit products. These include all types of products mainly clothes, toiletries, furniture, and even medicines.  It is true that copying products make it   affordable for the poor class of society nonetheless they have some dangerous effects on us as human and on the economy of our country.
Firstly, counterfeit items do not last long. Statistics show that they are fragile and easily damaged since they are made of poor materials like the skin of rates, dogs and cats. These may also cause serious threats on your health. for instance, experts proved that counterfeit socks and shoes are the main reason behind feet fungus.
Another important reason why counterfeit is hazardous is the way it concerns toiletries, food and medicines. A company, which works underground with no audits to watch them, will not respect the safety or quality standards. Medicines for example are produced with no adequate ingredients in a filthy environment which kill a lot of people each year particularly those who live in the third world countries. In addition, they use children to work for them and some of them fund terrorism.
I can say that counterfeit is the main motive behind the collapse of the economy of a country because plagiarizing someone's work after spending time, energy and money on it, will disappoint him and act as a hurdle for him to give more. Thus, counterfeit kills creativity. Furthermore, this type of companies is truly bad for the economy as they do not pay taxes which contribute in the prosperity of a country. Besides, because of their low price, a huge number of consumers will certainly purchase them and leave the original ones .As a result, this may lead to the bankruptcy of the genuine companies and thus a lot of workers will lose their jobs.
To conclude, counterfeit should be fought and this can be done by reducing the price of the genuine products by spending less money on advertisements and endorsements.

3- Writing a public statement to inform people about ethical investment (socially responsible business)
Every citizen and every company dream of putting their money in ethical investment. We are proud that their dream has become a reality as we are going to work hard for that.
First of all, our factories are environmentally friendly as we will use recyclable objects, we will not throw wastes to pollute the rivers and the sea and dispose trash in a safe way. Besides, we avoid investing in products that are harmful to both the human and the Earth such as tobacco, weapons, manufacturing, nuclear power, or uranium extraction.
Most importantly, we make sure our money is placed in companies which respect ethical labor standards. They should not use child labor nor have workers work under unsafe and bad circumstances with mineable wage. Furthermore, we only choose firms that have managed to maintain its reputation, have transparent financial accounting and balance economic growth with social responsibility.
We welcome everyone and every association who truly desire to invest their money in a real social responsible business.
